Health & Safety Check

Do you meet HSE standards?

Do you ever get that feeling that all too often health and safety is labelled as a legal minefield, complex, onerous and costly to manage?

At Soteria (UK) Ltd we don’t agree with these sentiments, yes it takes time and effort to implement safe systems and processes but with the correct advice and support health and safety can be managed at a price that doesn’t cost the earth.

Management of health and safety can be made simple if you stick to our 10-point plan:

  1. Ensure a senior manager / manager is responsible for health and safety and accountable to the Board on all health and safety matters
  2. Record all work activities conducted by the business and prioritise in order of risk
  3. Complete risk assessments for all work activities
  4. Prepare a documented library of policies and procedures for all work activities undertaken
  5. Develop and deliver training sessions for employees to ensure competence when undertaking work activities
  6. Communicate risk assessments, policies and procedures to all employees and ensure they are accessible
  7. Monitor work activities being undertaken to ensure compliance with agreed standards of work
  8. Review all documentation especially when work activities change or after an accident / near miss
  9. Regularly audit all of the process above to ensure continual improvement in health and safety performance
  10. Relax! - If you do all the above then you probably don’t have anything to worry about
